Description

The NewsGuild of New York and Consumer Reports are bringing Freedom of the Press Foundation Director of Newsroom Digital Security Harlo Holmes to Consumer Reports for an in-depth workshop on September 28th.

Holmes will cover common encryption apps like Signal, WhatsApp, Wire, Semaphor and Peerio as well as the encryption technology known as PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) and how they can be used to safeguard communications. She will also cover basic security fundamentals, such as how to employ strong pass-phrases, to help protect you no matter which platform you use to communicate.

If you're serious about taking your digital security to the next level – or you're simply curious about how encryption technology works – then join us for this critical workshop and learn how to protect yourself and your sources.

This class is open to all CR employees. Refreshments will be served.
